Job Summary:
CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a skilled Maintenance Surveyor to join our team in delivering high-quality technical repairs and maintenance services for our housing stock. As a key member of our Repairs Team, you will be responsible for overseeing appointed contractors, conducting site visits, and ensuring that all repairs and maintenance work meets statutory and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits to inspect and diagnose defects, and specify work required to repair and maintain properties.
- Oversee appointed contractors, ensuring that they meet quality and safety standards, and that work is completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor and report on contractor performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure seamless delivery of repairs and maintenance services.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and identify potential fire safety risks, arranging remedial action as required.
- Undertake estate inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and raise and supervise required work.
- Authorise works and post-inspect in accordance with current Home Decoration Scheme criteria and procedures.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of building repairs and maintenance, including building defects, building decay, and building performance failure.
- Up-to-date knowledge of procedures, legislation, and best practice related to repairs.
- Expert knowledge of the Fitness for Habitation Act 2018, Building Regulations, and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985.
