About the Role

Pearson is seeking a highly skilled Business Skills Trainer to join our team. As a Business Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality business skills training programs that enhance and develop learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and deliver business skills training programs that are aligned to organizational standards and meet the needs of our learners.
  • Deliver training sessions that are interactive, inspiring, and engaging, and are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
  • Create resources to support training programs, including PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, and handouts.
  • Utilize technology to support effective and efficient delivery of training programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements where required.
  • Provide constructive, professional, and relevant feedback to learners.
  • Carry out coaching calls with learners and complete paperwork and administration within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain online blogs and ensure learner contribution and regular updates.
  • Track and report progress of planned learning and maintain accurate records.
  • Promptly identify situations requiring periods of absence from the program or potential issues or risks.
  • Ensure learner records are accurately maintained, including records held within MIS systems, e-portfolio, and online learning systems.
  • Complete learner visits, either virtual or to other sites and locations, as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with learners, business partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor learners to develop positive attitudes towards learning and studying.
  • Attend standardization and team meetings as required.
  • Identify, complete, and record appropriate annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
  • Assist in the support and delivery of other qualifications/programs when required.
  • Be flexible over hours of attendance/work, including evenings and weekends, if required.

Requirements

  • Hold relevant teaching/training qualifications.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Able to work under own supervision and on own initiative.
  • Qualified trainer/teacher with at least 5 years training and delivery experience within the business skills sector.
  • Proven experience of delivering inspirational, informative, and engaging training content.
  • Industry competence and experience in a substantive management role.
  • Can demonstrate use of technology to support effective and efficient delivery.
  • Demonstrate through previous OTLA and/or standardization observations is consistently operating as an outstanding or minimum good trainer.
  • Can demonstrate the development of course materials and training resources.
  • Excellent written skills to enable detailed feedback and target setting of objectives.
