Position Overview

The role is presented on behalf of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring that successful candidates will adhere to the Trust's Terms and Conditions. The Estates Shift Team is tasked with delivering round-the-clock emergency support and a thorough electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance service for the facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality maintenance and repair services across a variety of building systems, including electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Engage with contractors and trade groups to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Respond to emergency situations, ensuring essential services such as electricity, heating, and medical gas are maintained.
  • Act as a primary responder for fire and chemical incidents, coordinating with emergency services and providing technical support.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and inspections in line with established protocols.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex systems, including Low Voltage (LV) systems, air conditioning, and emergency generators.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • HNC/ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Qualified in accordance with the 18th Edition regulations.
