Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Nurse to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and delivering research across the emergency, acute care, and critical care departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer, coordinate, and manage the collection of data relating to ongoing clinical studies.
- Screen, identify, recruit, and follow up appropriate patients for clinical studies.
- Demonstrate excellence and professionalism in all modes of communication.
- Demonstrate initiative and competence in all clinical procedures undertaken independently and when assisting medical staff.
- Carry out and/or monitor all trial-related and other research clinical care procedures for research participants.
- Demonstrate keyboard, word processing, and database skills.
- Perform trial and other research procedures competently.
- Ensure the safe handling and quality of biological samples.
- Take responsibility for seeking consent from patients and relatives.
- Liaise with clinical research associates and report any concerns or safety problems.
- Contribute to the efficient set-up of new clinical trials.
- Represent at investigator meetings and research conferences.
- Actively maintain and promote effective communication within the department.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the safekeeping and archiving of all data.
- Prepare for and facilitate trial monitoring.
- Assist in audit inspections.
- Adhere to COSHH, Health and Safety, and relevant Trust policies.
- Ensure all members of the multi-professional team are aware of the clinical trials.
- Keep abreast of developments in clinical trials research.
- Report to medical and/or senior nursing staff on the condition and progress of patients.
- Maintain a proactive attitude to patient safety.
- Diploma or Degree in health/nursing related studies or relevant research experience.
- IT experience, including Excel.
- PPI experience.
- Willingness to assist in training staff.
- Experience of managing complex research projects.
- Experience of balancing multiple projects.
- Able to evidence previous experience in approaching and recruiting patients.
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to cover patient appointments and the needs of the service, including working across sites and in different departments.
