About the Role

The Research Finance team plays a pivotal role in supporting research funding proposals and post-award finance processes within the department. They work closely with academics, the Director of Research, and colleagues across the Central UCL teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee research grant and project funding administration processes.
  • Provide consistent advice to stakeholders according to UCL policies and procedures and best practice.
  • Work with the Senior Finance and Resources Manager to support the research finance-related development of the Research, Finance and Operations Administrator.
  • Build positive working relationships with staff and UCL departments, internal and external partners, and stakeholders.

About You

To be successful as a Senior Research Finance Officer, you will need:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent, or relevant experience in managing financial processes.
  • Knowledge of research funding processes and regulations within a Higher Education or similar research environment.
  • Experience in providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research funding applications.
  • Experience in using online financial systems for budgeting and costing proposals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to liaise, network, and influence various people at all levels of the university.
