About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Rail Operator. As a key member of our station team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains and stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of customers by maintaining a professional and alert demeanor at all times.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to customers regarding their journeys, using your excellent communication skills to engage with passengers and make their experience with us exceptional.
  • Work collaboratively with train staff and other colleagues to ensure trains depart on time and safely, communicating effectively with station and control colleagues as needed.
  • Dispatch trains from the platform, ensuring all customers are clear of the train and observing the correct signals.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers' journeys, destinations, and transport options, becoming a trusted source of information and advice.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, taking on a variety of tasks to ensure the station meets our high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Be able to travel to your location of work within 60 minutes for all shift times.
  • Be organized and efficient, with the ability to cope with repetitive tasks under pressure.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to talk to anyone.
  • Be passionate about doing the right thing and have a strong sense of customer service.
  • Be competent in the use of technology and confident in making regular live announcements.
  • Have normal colour vision.
Working Pattern

We operate 24/7, and as part of our station team, you'll need to be able to work shifts at all times of the day and on every day of the week. On average, you'll work 17 hours per week over 5 days, including earlies, lates, and weekends.
