Job Title: Graduate LAB Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate LAB Scientist to join our dynamic analytical manufacturing science & technology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in executing analytical studies, developing strategies, and preparing protocols and reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical testing for characterization and method development studies, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
  • Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for analytical methods, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in executing protocols within the Analytical Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve departmental goals.
  • Prepare data for Analytical MS&T studies and reports, ensuring clear and accurate records of all work performed.
  • Ensure all experimental work is accurately recorded in controlled laboratory notebooks or protocols, adhering to GxP (Data integrity principles - ALCOA).
  • Keep your training on analytical methods and equipment up to date to support development activities, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Analytical MS&T group to meet departmental goals and ensure efficient workflow and communication, contributing to the smooth operation of laboratory areas.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of all work performed, including data processing, tabulation, and interpretation of assay results, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Understand and contribute to departmental and site objectives and project milestones, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Support the smooth operation of laboratory areas in line with GxP standards, maintaining awareness of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Manage consumable inventory levels within the laboratory, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Be aware of equipment maintenance and calibration procedures and operate equipment safely in accordance with cGXP and Health & Safety guidelines, adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain awareness of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to training plan requirements, ensuring all training is up to date and documented, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Report any compliance concerns to your line manager or Quality Assurance Compliance team, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Always work safely and raise any Health and Safety concerns to your line manager or the Health and Safety team, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ensure you are appropriately trained in the latest policies and procedures before carrying out any tasks, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform assigned tasks while adhering to current GMP requirements for sterile medicinal products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the successful running of laboratory areas and ensure all training is kept up to date and documented, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
Essential Requirements:
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline, such as chemistry, biology, or a related field.
  • Awareness of regulatory guidelines relevant to conduct of work, including Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and data integrity principles.
  • Ability to work independently according to established SOPs and to perform analytical testing, as required, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
  • Writing skills for example SOPs and validation materials, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Communication skills – effective reporting and presentation of analytical results within analytical team, ensuring clear and accurate records of all work performed.
Desirable:
  • MSc in appropriate scientific discipline, such as biopharmaceutical science or a related field.
  • Biopharmaceutical industry experience working in technical team(s) supporting physicochemical/immunoassay techniques (e.g. SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, HPLC, potentiometric titration), ensuring relevant skills and experience.
