About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Highways Operative to join our team in Devon. As a key member of our Highways team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our extensive network of roads and highways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake highways repairs, cyclical works, and general highway maintenance as part of a team.
  • Use technology to input safety data and maintenance records.
  • Operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for day-to-day tasks.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles, plant, and materials in your charge.
  • Provide direction and supervision to less experienced operatives where appropriate.
  • Participate in winter and emergency maintenance activities on a standby rota.
Requirements:
  • Clean driving license.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
  • LGVC driving license or willingness to support investment in LGVC training during the probationary period.
  • CSCS Card.
Desirable:
  • Highways experience.
  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) Operative Accreditation.
  • Lantra 12d.
  • HGV Glass 2.
