About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Wienerberger's Denton site in Manchester. As a key member of our in-house maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our factory's equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on factory equipment and machinery
  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Install and maintain plant machinery and equipment
  • Improve factory overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Promote Lean thinking and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
  • Adhere to Wienerberger's quality system and standards
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience working in manufacturing or factory environments
  • Strong safety record and commitment to safe working practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong team playing skills and good communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatic, and drive chain fault finding
  • Bearing fitting/alignment experience
  • Electrical control systems experience
  • Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations
  • Arc and Mig welding/basic fabrication
