About the Role
The Cardiff Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people who require additional support, developing and delivering a needs-based program to enhance their wellbeing and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Teaching Assistant will be responsible for working one-to-one or in small groups with children and young people who may be experiencing challenges and trauma. The role requires a non-judgmental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the wellbeing and engagement of learners, working closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver a comprehensive package of support.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people in a multi-agency environment, with a background working with learners with additional learning needs, including emotional health and wellbeing. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding is essential, as is good interpersonal skills, a good standard of written communication, and competent IT skills. The ability to travel across Cardiff throughout the day is essential, and the ability to drive a minibus is desirable.

What We Offer
The Cardiff Council offers a competitive salary, ranging from £19,776 to £22,668 per annum, depending on hours worked. The role is part-time, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking team, improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
