About the Role

Pertemps Bristol Industrial is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Trainee Sewing Machinist. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern manufacturing environment and develop skills in sewing and fabric production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn to operate a range of industrial sewing machines and develop proficiency in threading and sewing techniques.
  • Understand and apply sewing and fabric terminology to standard operating procedures.
  • Gain a broad knowledge of skills within the garment industry, including inspection, graphic application, fabric cutting, and supply chain management.
  • Confidently unpick and repair garments, and sew different fabrics such as cotton, wool, leather, or industrial textiles.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create sample garments and ensure accuracy in finished products.
Requirements
  • Level 1 Maths and English Functional skills or equivalent.
  • An interest in the manufacturing industry or sewing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Working Hours and Pay

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. £11.94 per hour. Immediate start available. Easily accessible from Yate Train Station or free parking on site. 39 hours per week, with 8 hours dedicated to coursework for the apprenticeship program.
