Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer or Trainee Procurement Officer to join our Procurement, Commercial and Contract Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for effective purchasing of goods, works and services on behalf of the Council, and managing contracts with suppliers to achieve best value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out effective purchasing of goods, works and services on behalf of the Council.
- Manage contracts with suppliers to ensure best value is achieved.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the Council's needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with business objectives.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have achieved their CIPS Level 4 qualification and be willing to or already working towards achieving their CIPS Level 5 qualification.
- Trainee Procurement Officer post is a temporary post till July 2026, with salary dependent on progress.
- Both posts are full-time, with requests for alternative work patterns considered.
