Teaching Assistant Job Summary

The successful candidate will have GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics, and some experience of working with children in an educational setting. You will be a supportive and welcoming presence in the classroom with a dedication to inspiring children to meet their full potential.

  • Has knowledge/experience of working with children with a range of learning needs, including social and communication needs.
  • Is keen to work as part of a team and share ideas and good practice.
  • Has a passion for raising the achievement of all children.
  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
  • Is an effective communicator with staff, parents, and children.
  • Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Is creative, enthusiastic, and resourceful.
  • Insists that learning should be fun.
  • Has a commitment to Christian values.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Managing behaviour and ensuring the safety of pupils at all times.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Following guidelines and advice for best practice.
  • Engaging in child-initiated learning.
  • Modelling effective communication and desired behaviours.
  • Communication with parents/carers and staff.
  • Working with external supporting professionals and adapting practice according to advice.
