Bennett & Game Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to join their team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural, temporary works, and geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of leading teams and overseeing projects from pre-construction to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Design Manager to oversee the design and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet the required standards and deadlines.
  • Provide technical support to the sectors of the business, including above-ground structures and tunnelling.
  • Develop and implement construction methodologies, working closely with site teams and external consultants.
  • Lead projects through the pre-construction design phase, producing designs and providing technical support during the construction phase.
  • Conduct earthwork stability and slope stability analyses, as well as ground settlement analyses from tunnelling and excavations.
  • Liaise with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • BEng or MEng level in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Working towards chartership, such as the ICE or IStructE.
  • At least 10 years' experience in civil engineering, with expertise in underground structures, geotechnical, structures, tunnelling, and temporary works.
  • Strong technical skills, with accomplished structural design skills and geotechnical knowledge.
  • Ability to support, mentor, and develop junior engineers within the team.
  • Sound knowledge of CDM H&S regulations.
  • Competent to apply Temporary works design principles in accordance with BS5975 standard.
  • Capable of applying permanent work standards with design solutions in both timber, steel, reinforced concrete, and proprietary structural systems.
