The Role
We're seeking a Design Engineer to join our national multi-disciplinary team. As a Design Engineer, you'll design and deliver regional active travel infrastructure projects, enhancing active travel project delivery across urban and rural settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop concept, detailed designs, and construction specifications for active travel infrastructure projects, adhering to design standards, legislation, and guidance.
- Collaborate with communities and support groups to design projects that respond to local issues and opportunities.
- Apply inclusive design principles, seeking out and listening to seldom-heard voices to create a fairer public realm in Wales.
- Support the business case process through the WelTAG stages, providing technical options and costs, risks, and opportunities.
Requirements
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or associated discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a technical design team on linear infrastructure projects, ideally on highways, active travel, or public realm projects.
- Knowledge of Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.
- Commitment to active travel and sustainable transport.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential, the ability to speak/write Welsh is a great asset. We support and promote the use of the Welsh Language and encourage employees to develop and improve their skills.
