Clinical Trials Sourcing Director

At AmerisourceBergen, we are seeking a seasoned Clinical Trials Sourcing Director to lead our clinical trials sourcing team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sourcing strategies for clinical trials materials, services, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to the clinical trials sourcing team, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
  • Design and develop strategic sourcing strategies for clinical trials materials, services, and suppliers, ensuring quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers/vendors that meet quality standards, cost-effectiveness requirements, timelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, pricing agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), and other relevant commercial terms with suppliers/vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance against established metrics to ensure adherence to quality standards, delivery timelines, cost targets, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage vendor accounts, increasing capabilities and expert services to meet AmerisourceBergen standards/SLA's.
  • Identify potential risks associated with clinical trials sourcing activities and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations (such as Good Clinical Practice guidelines), market dynamics impacting clinical trial supplies/services procurement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D personnel, quality assurance/quality control teams, and regulatory affairs personnel to ensure seamless integration of clinical trial supplies/services into ongoing operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, supply chain management).
  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trials sourcing processes and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for clinical trials.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills to recognize performance indicators and present findings with action recommendations.
