About the Role

GKN Aerospace is seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations within the Value Stream.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless execution of production plans.
  • Develop and document manufacturing standard work instructions and implementation, driving process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Lead process improvement projects, focusing on reducing product defects and increasing product throughput.
  • Implement process control measures, such as SPC and Cpk, to ensure robustness and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues, driving yield improvement and eliminating customer escapes.
  • Manage small capital and tooling projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with team members and other stakeholders to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field, such as Physics, Chemistry, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Three years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a working knowledge of statistical process controls, mechanical engineering drawings, tool design, and manufacturing machinery troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • US Citizenship, per ITAR regulations, to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in concessions/MRB and frontline support to manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrable experience in problem-solving techniques, such as 5 Whys, 8D, and DMAIC.
  • Experience in process control awareness and lean tools in a production environment.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance.
