Staff Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our team at loveholidays, a leading Online Travel Agency (OTA) in Europe. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping our technical vision and architecture, driving innovation and excellence in our engineering practices.

About the Role
  • Lead the development of scalable and high-performance applications, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and algorithms.
  • Own applications end-to-end, from specification to deployment, running, and monitoring in production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a best-in-class buying experience for our customers.
  • Champion technical quality and architecture within the team, setting an example for solving complex technical and customer challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement server-driven UIs that can be easily modified without engineering involvement.
  • Work across our tech stack, optimizing performance, deploying GraphQL changes, and integrating with BigQuery and our Data Mesh.
  • Develop and maintain our Kubernetes infrastructure and Rust edge platform.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement technical improvements and innovations.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in building scalable and high-performance applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design, algorithms, and data modeling.
  • Experience with Java, Node, Typescript, GraphQL, and Preact.
  • Ability to work across the entire tech stack and use the right tool for the job.
