Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Supervisor to join our team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our soft facilities team, you will be responsible for planning and organizing daily routines, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, integrated service in line with national standards of cleanliness and agreed performance monitoring measures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day supervision of staff, ensuring they carry out their duties in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and developing quality and service delivery, implementing agreed changes.
  • Day-to-day work allocation, including prioritization where necessary.
  • Assist in the delivery of compulsory and developmental training.
  • Assist in the induction training of new employees.
  • Carry out staff development reviews.
  • First-line management of employee health and attendance, including carrying out return-to-work interviews.
  • Daily monitoring of activity.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing enforcement of infection control measures.
  • Resolve any routine service deficiencies/failures, referring to the Duty Manager when appropriate.
  • Ensure all staff are correctly equipped to carry out their duties.
  • Act as Deputy Nominated Fire Officer.
  • Ensure that all shifts are covered for annual leave, sickness, or other absences.
  • Where necessary, form part of the rota commitment and carry out relevant duties as necessary.
  • Hold regular team meetings, record discussions, and ensure agreed actions are addressed.
