About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to join our team at AutoNeura. As a key member of our propulsion systems development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced control systems for electric machines, decarbonized thermal propulsion systems, and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Drive and lead the development of software and control systems algorithms, including hardware-in-the-loop testing and collaboration with PhD researchers.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough technical analysis of control strategy performance and publish high-quality journal papers and attend conferences.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report technical status and communicate findings to the team and stakeholders.
  • Test and Automation Software: Develop modular, reusable test and automation software in Python and similar languages for control design verification.
  • Project Management: Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and hold reviews to ensure reliable test systems are delivered to production.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, or science discipline.
  • Experience: 2+ years of software programming experience using Python, C++, or other object-oriented languages.
  • Preferred Skills: 3-5 years of work experience with programming and developing custom control systems, knowledge of dynamometer control systems, motor control systems, or engine control systems, and experience with advanced control strategies or machine learning approaches.
