About the Institution

Your Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering both the academic and personal growth of students. Your role will involve supporting their educational journey and overall well-being, ensuring they achieve their maximum potential in a supportive and secure setting. Key tasks may include addressing individual care requirements and implementing effective behavior management strategies tailored to each student's specific needs.

Building positive and supportive relationships with students is crucial, as is creating a safe and engaging learning environment. Encouraging independence and personal development while upholding high standards of behavior is essential. You will collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated educational experiences that empower every student to thrive.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the planning and evaluation of educational activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student progress and achievements.
  • Monitor, assess, record, and report on students' progress in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Support positive behavior and focus, adapting your approach as necessary.
  • Promote moral, social, and cultural development while upholding British values within the educational framework.
  • Encourage students' cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through a holistic approach.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to assist in a dynamic SEN environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a SEN role, whether paid or voluntary.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student transportation).
  • Recognized Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience working with students with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
  • A child-centered approach, recognizing and responding to each student's unique needs.
  • Creativity and positivity in addressing students' requirements.
