Quality Control Specialist

Position Overview:
The Quality Control Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet the established quality, safety, and legal standards. This position involves meticulous assessment and documentation of products in alignment with both company and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake sampling checks on raw materials and finished products during each shift, including weekly hygiene swabbing of personnel and the environment, as well as quarterly water and air sampling.
  • Facilitate daily taste panel and sensory evaluations.
  • Perform finished goods inspections against the quality attribute sheet.
  • Manage non-conforming products by placing them on hold and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Regularly monitor environmental and product temperatures as directed by the Technical Manager.
  • Verify the weight of finished packages to ensure compliance with average weight or fixed weight regulations.
  • Calibrate thermometers and check scales daily.
  • Conduct daily calibrations of gas analyzers.
  • Execute checks on the operation of checkweighers and metal detectors during each shift, ensuring compliance with documented procedures and accurate record-keeping.

Candidate Profile:
  • Proven experience in quality assurance is essential; candidates with a background in raw sciences who are open to working in the food industry will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with high-risk manufacturing environments is advantageous.
  • Experience in a production setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and a proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build positive working relationships.
