Risk Management and Quality (RSK) Group is seeking a skilled Near Surface Geophysicist to join their team in Hemel Hempstead. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a rewarding and challenging career with opportunities for Continuous Professional Development.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work within the Geosciences team, providing consultancy and design services to external clients. They will be responsible for preparing for and undertaking site work, data processing, interpretation, and report production. Additionally, they will mentor and/or line manage junior members of the team, manage ongoing projects, and liaise with clients as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Work under the guidance of the Principal Geophysicist and Team Leader to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Prepare for and undertake site work using various geophysical techniques, including GPR, ERT, Seismic Refraction, MASW, Microgravity, Magnetics, and Electromagnetic instrumentation.
  • Mentor and/or line manage junior team members to ensure their professional development and growth.
  • Manage ongoing projects, including preparing proposals and liaising with clients as required.
Requirements:
  • Near Surface Geophysicist with 2-3 years' experience.
  • Competent in the use of GPR, ERT, Seismic Refraction, MASW, Microgravity, Magnetics, and Electromagnetic instrumentation.
  • Experienced in processing data for the above techniques.
  • Competent user of High Precision GPS, Total Stations.
  • Competent user of 2D AutoCAD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, CAD, and some programming.
  • Must hold a UK driving license.
  • Must be prepared to travel and stay away from home when required.
