Job Overview

As a key member of the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective procurement and distribution of medicines across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the Procurement and Distribution team in providing safe and high-quality patient-centered services, including medicine storage and management.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate the Procurement and Distribution services across the Trust, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Implement necessary changes to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality service, promoting excellence within the department.
  • Provide professional leadership and management to all staff members working within the Procurement and Distribution area, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support workers.
  • Manage regional and national contracts, ensuring departmental compliance and promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure that appropriate training is provided and documented for all staff working in the area, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • First-line management training or a management qualification.
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in delivering a Procurement and Distribution service, with a strong understanding of medicines legislation and guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • IT literate, with experience in using relevant software and systems.
