About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Cabling Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data cabling systems in various environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structured cabling installation and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work from construction drawings, reading job diagrams, scopes, and specifications to ensure accurate installations.
  2. Install network and structured cabling systems, including Cat5e/6/6A and Fibre.
  3. Terminate cables on patch panels and modules, ensuring high-quality connections.
  4. Install PVC and metal trunking, conduit, and other necessary infrastructure.
  5. Test installations using Fluke Testers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  6. Maintain quality standards while meeting agreed-upon timescales.
  7. Report progress and issues to line managers and client contacts.
  8. Work safely at all times, adhering to Health & Safety policies.
  9. Diagnose and rectify faults successfully, minimizing downtime.
  10. Interact with clients to ensure smooth installations with minimal disruption.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  1. Proven experience in data cabling installation and maintenance, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
  2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting cabling diagrams and blueprints.
  3. Experience with cabling tools and equipment, including cable testers, crimpers, and termination kits.
  4. Basic testing knowledge and experience with Fluke (desirable).
  5. Flexibility around working hours, including night work and overtime.
  6. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, paying close attention to detail.
  7. Self-motivation, with the ability to take initiative and self-manage workload without supervision.
  8. CSCS/ECS card (desirable).
  9. Full UK Driving license.
