Position: Mechanical Assembly Technician


Recruitment Services UK is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to enhance our client's workforce.

In this position, you will be tasked with the assembly and fitting of various components to create machinery, mechanical systems, and piping installations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations while meeting client specifications.

Work Schedule


This role typically involves 40 hours of work per week, with opportunities for overtime.

Compensation


The salary for this position ranges from £31,000 to £34,000 annually, with additional enhanced rates for overtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical assembly of components to fabricate machinery, piping systems, and structural steelwork.
  • Fabricate and install components and piping using various materials.
  • Utilize a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment effectively.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings with precision.
  • Identify leaks or malfunctions in systems.
  • Perform quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Apply basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and cuts.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship in all tasks.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to work instructions, processes, and risk assessments.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional tasks as required by the business.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly or pipe fitting.
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Competence in using power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to assemble components with accuracy.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge for equipment assembly.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional extended shifts.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Security clearance may be necessary.
