We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team at Whelen Engineering. As a critical member of our production team, you will be responsible for reviewing and distributing a daily dispatch list to the floor, ensuring all orders and production requirements are completed on time.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Secure and move parts needed in your assigned department(s) to ensure efficient production.
- Work Authorization: Authorize and release work to the floor, ensuring timely completion of orders and production requirements.
- Order Fulfillment: Complete order requirements and obligations for your department(s), maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Customer Service: Verify customer orders and maintain open communication with purchasing and internal vendors.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production department supervisors to ensure seamless production operations.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory levels, including key inventory fields, and assist with floor inventory corrections and/or adjustments.
- Backorder Management: Review backorders for your department(s) and participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize production processes.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a production planning or logistics role.
- Skills: Proficient in computer applications, especially Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
