Job Title: Development Underwriter

HFG Insurance Recruitment is seeking a skilled Development Underwriter to join a leading Lloyd's MGA in the West Midlands area. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of underwriting experience in the commercial combined space and a strong background in MGA environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers in the region to increase new business activity.
  • Review and underwrite new business quotations across all products within the underwriting appetite, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
  • Conduct broker visits and underwriting surgeries to increase brand awareness and establish contacts.
  • Act as an escalation point for key brokers and provide high-level customer service.
  • Liaise with the technical underwriting team and key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Regularly communicate with business development managers and regional directors to develop and maintain broker relationships and strategic planning.
  • Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure all work is completed within SLAs and maintain broker relationships.
  • Operate in accordance with the underwriting license provided and utilize the underwriting guide.
  • Take initiative to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
  • Work from home with occasional visits to the London office when necessary.
