Job Title: Mechanical Manager

As a key member of the Bilfinger UK Engineering Team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most stimulating and groundbreaking EPC projects in the UK. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all delegates within your discipline, inclusive of utilisation, holidays, expenses, performance reviews, and time writing.
- Be a keen motivator, carrying out and managing development and training plans for all staff employees in your discipline.
- Review, update, and implement all procedures, standards, guidance notes, and forms for your respective discipline.
- Be accountable for all recruitment and resourcing of your discipline.
- Be accountable for all proposals and estimates for your discipline.
- Be accountable for managing quality of Engineering and Design in respects to your discipline, for both single and multi-discipline projects.
- Appoint capable discipline checkers and approvers.
- Support the Engineering Manager in growing the Engineering teams to support the projects.
Key Requirements:
- More than 3 years of experience as a line manager for your respective discipline.
- More than 5 years of experience as Lead Engineer Mechanical, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering/EPCM/EPC company, in one of the above-mentioned sectors.
- Experience in managing and implementing strict quality control and procedures.
- Deep knowledge of Mechanical engineering and design, but also a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, EC&I, and Process).
- Be able to forecast and control resources to ensure projects are fully utilised and recruitment is planned.
- MEng/BEng in Mechanical/Piping Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred).
- Strong understanding of the main standards in relation to your discipline.
- Experience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standards.
- Be able to develop piping systems complying with PED requirements.
- Have an appreciation of the main M&P design packages, including AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II.
- Experienced with the production of mechanical specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, and schedules.
- Result-oriented, with a focus on delivering top-quality engineering and design.
- Plan and organise activities before delegating tasks to the team.
- Understand the dependencies of engineering activities within the Mechanical discipline and between Mechanical and other disciplines.
- Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining control over the team's activities.
- Coordinate and report progress to the Engineering Manager.
- Implement a solid change control procedure for the team.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve targets, even in challenging situations.
- Chair design review meetings.
- Pleasure in teaching and coaching young generation Mechanical engineers and designers.
