About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our Specialist Services Division, you will be responsible for providing expert health and safety support to our operations across the north.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Business Stakeholders: Collaborate with our business teams to deliver our health and safety vision, mission, and balanced business plan.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer guidance to help our business implement effective health and safety risk controls and assurance programmes.
  • Assure Internal Stakeholders: Use your specialist knowledge and understanding of risk profiles to assure internal stakeholders of our health and safety performance.
  • Impart Specialist Knowledge: Share your health and safety expertise with others through education, communication, and training.
  • Develop and Implement Improvement Plans: Partner with Site Leads to develop and implement health and safety improvement plans.
  • Advocate Organisational Learning: Use the TopSet methodology for root cause analysis for incident investigations and advocate organisational learning.
  • Provide Data-Driven Insights: Collate and interpret data to provide detailed and accurate insights to operational colleagues, enabling them to take action to reduce workplace harm.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Legislation: Keep updated on health and safety legislation and maintain expert knowledge through self-driven continuous professional development.
Essential Requirements
  • A recognised NEBOSH qualification and professional status.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a process-driven environment such as Clinical Waste, Hazardous Waste, Water Treatment, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas Industry, Waste Management, or Chemical Production.
  • Confident with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels.
