Test Engineer

Ultra Maritime is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer - Assistant Team Leader to join our Test Department in Rugeley, Staffordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our working environment, testing electrical and electronic assemblies and equipment, and collaborating with the Engineering department to influence design for test parameters.
Key Responsibilities:- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies to maintain a safe and legally compliant working environment.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct functional and system testing on MOD and commercial equipment using standard safe operating procedures to MOD and commercial standards.
- Design Influence: Liaise with the Engineering department to influence design for test parameters and ensure that equipment is designed with testability in mind.
- Project Management: Monitor actual cost and schedule performances versus targets and ensure that productivity targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Communication: Attend and lead regular project-specific meetings to ensure that stakeholders are informed of relevant issues and progress.
- Qualifications: GCSE Grade C/4 Math's & English or equivalent, HNC in Electrical and Electronic Technology or equivalent, and knowledge of ERP systems (such as IFS).
- Skills: Proven ability to correctly interpret manufacturing information and carry out related self-inspection tasks, knowledge of 5S continuous improvement and 7W waste elimination processes, and PC literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Travel and Overtime: Driving license required, travel to alternative locations in the UK and abroad to undertake occasional off-site activities, and working overtime and unsociable hours as and when required.
