As a TIG Welder / Fabricator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all TIG welding tasks are completed according to specifications and timelines.
  • Fabricating and welding vacuum chambers, components, and sub-assemblies in alignment with planned manufacturing operations, adhering to defined quality standards.
  • Completing projects in accordance with scheduled timelines, coordinating fabrication and welding workloads with machine shop operations.
  • Conducting quality control evaluations and managing leak testing operations using mass spectrometry equipment on all chamber vessels.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to manage personal workload effectively, meeting all set targets.
  • Strong teamwork skills, fostering effective relationships within the welding department.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Understanding of quality, timelines, and customer requirements.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and adherence to guidelines.
  • Capability to prioritize projects to meet targets, including call-in time and overtime.
  • Familiarity with the 5S methodology.
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations, with a proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing standards.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge or experience in welding and fabrication processes.
  • Previous exposure to the vacuum industry.
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing (BTech/HNC/HND level).
  • Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel and Mu metal.
  • Established skills in metal fabrication and welding, including the use of precision measuring tools.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Comfortable working under deadlines set by the lead technician.
  • Basic knowledge of turning processes.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in TIG welding.
