Electrical Maintenance Technician

Main Responsibilities:
To ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of electrical services and equipment within the hospital, as directed by Estates Supervisors and management.
Key Accountabilities:
To maintain the hospital's building, fabric, plant, services, and equipment to a high standard, ensuring continued efficiency, safety, and reliability, and safeguarding the future long-term serviceability of the estate as contractually required by Serco, Octagon, and the Norfolk & Norwich NHS Trust.
Key Performance Indicators:
- To carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance to a wide range of services, plant, and equipment within all areas of the hospital, as directed by supervisors or managers.
- To carry out planned preventive maintenance to a wide range of plant and equipment.
- To work in accordance with all relevant Serco policies and procedures, workplace regulations, and best practice guidelines.
- To always work in a safe and responsible manner, with full regard for own and other's safety.
- To attend work in compliance with the computerized time and attendance system.
- To actively participate in the computerized labor control system, including accurate and punctual completion of work order documentation.
- To use personal communication equipment as requested.
- To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by supervisors or managers.
- To communicate to supervisors or managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for spare parts.
- To attend on-site and off-site training as required.
- To be aware of how the electrical craftsperson role influences Serco's Norfolk and Norwich contract and the wider company objectives.
Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized appropriate electrical apprenticeship or other relevant structured training program.
- Appropriate City and Guilds and/or BTEC certification.
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical building services.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
