We are seeking an experienced and skilled Staff Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients in the Intensive Care Unit
- Take charge of the clinical needs and holistic care of allocated patients
- Delegate tasks and activities to team members in relation to patient care
- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation
- Develop and maintain skills and knowledge in line with national competencies
- Current full UK NMC Registration
- Level or relevant children's qualification
- Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
- Relevant post-registration course
- Flexible working practices for 24-hour service
- Awareness of audit and research
- Able to manage difficult situations
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Interpersonal skills - calm, supportive, motivated, professional
- Ability to take the lead, initiate, and ensure appropriate action in response to deteriorating patients
- Basic IT skills
- Competency in medication administration, including IV drug administration, or willingness to undergo training
- Ability to develop own clinical skills and a willingness to participate in continuing professional development
- Ability to solve problems and use initiative
- Good basic level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication skills
