About the Role:

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Designer to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be located in one of our offices, with the option to work from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain design documents throughout the design lifecycle, adhering to ISO standards and meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with design and other functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Design innovative solutions and resolve manufacturing/installation issues.
  • Support senior designers with various activities, including estimates, quality control, and test procedures.
  • Take on Design Lead responsibilities for single-discipline low-risk projects.
  • Maintain expertise in best practices across the design lifecycle, including customs and standards, and company policies (health & safety, diversity, etc.).

Essential Requirements:

  • You are a self-motivated individual who delivers results and champions high performance, with the courage to challenge the status quo.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
  • Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
