Are you an experienced cost estimator looking for a new opportunity? Do you have a solid background in civil engineering and groundwork projects? If so, we have an exciting position for you.

Our client, a reputable civil engineering firm, specializes in providing high-quality groundwork and civil engineering solutions to a wide range of clients, including major housing developers across the southern region of England.

We are currently seeking a lead cost estimator to join a growing team and manage the financial aspects of our projects from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and analyzing project budgets, cost estimates, tenders, and contracts
  • Negotiating and securing agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Overseeing and controlling costs, changes, risks, and quality throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborating with clients, consultants, site managers, and engineers
  • Preparing and presenting financial valuations, invoices, payments, and final accounts
  • Creating and delivering detailed reports on project performance and profitability

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a cost estimator in civil engineering and groundwork sectors
  • A thorough understanding of construction contracts, standards, and regulations
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid UK driving license
