Lead Test Systems Engineer

MillTech Recruitment is partnering with a dynamic company specializing in Automotive testing solutions. This organization is experiencing significant growth driven by the increasing demand for Electronic Control Unit (ECU) testing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to the Test Systems team
  • Work collaboratively with Test Engineers to implement and maintain testing equipment
  • Develop and sustain proprietary software and testing programs
  • Design, construct, troubleshoot, and commission testing apparatus
  • Assist the team in diagnosing equipment issues to reduce downtime and improve First Time Through (FTT) rates
  • Optimize machine cycle times and operational efficiency
  • Draft and revise technical documentation and schematics
  • Engage with the Global Research and Development team
  • Travel to various sites within the UK approximately 30% of the time, with occasional international travel

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in designing testing equipment for Automotive projects, including engine, transmission, or driveline
  • Proficient in LabVIEW/Teststand
  • Solid understanding of Controller Area Network (CAN) systems, including CAN, LIN, and Flexray
  • Experience in developing or modifying testing software and automated testing procedures
  • Familiarity with Python programming
