Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational health services to our employees and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on work-related health issues and develop specialized programs of care to mitigate health risks in the workplace.
  • Conduct complex fitness for work assessments and provide highly specialized advice to managers, employees, and HR.
  • Assess and manage highly complex health information from employees, managers, and HR, and provide highly specialized advice regarding work health assessments and fitness for work assessments.
  • Undertake formal clinical audit programs and evaluation to support the strategic direction of the service and provide assurance regarding the quality of clinical care and advice.
  • Provide clear, visible professional advice to employees within the Trust and external clients.
  • Manage own caseload of management referrals for the purpose of sickness absence management through assessment and planning of Occupational Health care of an individual.
  • Develop highly specialized programs of care to employees to mitigate health issues within the workplace.
  • Work autonomously as a specialist practitioner and be able to use own initiative and act independently, to take action when required.
  • Maintain and safeguard accurate confidential clinical records, including the recording of clinical outcomes and observations, tests results, and the secure storage of patient identifiable information on the OH management system Cority.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health or a related field.
  • Significant experience in occupational health nursing, preferably in a senior role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative.
  • Highly specialized knowledge of occupational health and wellbeing.
