About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance and Test Specialist to join our team at The Focusrite Group. As a Quality Assurance and Test Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our audio products, from incoming goods inspection to final product testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Inspection and Testing: Inspect incoming goods, including component parts and materials, to ensure they meet quality level requirements.
  • Quality Procedures and Standards: Maintain and deliver The Focusrite Group's quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain the documentation process and ensure quality reports are maintained and delivered.
  • Quality Systems and Levels: Register and maintain quality systems and levels to ensure all quality levels are recorded and registered for future analysis.
  • Quality Issues and Reporting: Report and record quality issues to the business and to suppliers through quality system methods (8Ds, NCRs) and quality reports.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Work with the Purchasing Team to establish and maintain quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with other business units (production, warehouse, supply chain, etc.) to ensure levels of quality are upheld and understood.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Acoustic Testing: Provide acoustic test equipment and define procedures to perform QC on drive units, sub-assemblies, and finished goods.
  • Fault-Finding and Problem-Solving: Perform basic fault-finding to determine and resolve the cause of test failures.
  • Test Equipment Maintenance: Day-to-day maintenance of the test equipment and accessories (cables).
  • Test Data Management: Capturing and organizing test data and where appropriate the documentation of data and results.
  • Test Area Organization: Organizing and keeping tidy the test areas.
  • Reporting and Updates: Reporting of failures to the line manager that the Quality Assurance and Test Specialist is not able to diagnose and providing regular weekly updates to the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant engineering or quality discipline qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Manufacturing Sector Experience: Manufacturing sector experience.
  • Knowledge of Audio Products: Knowledge of audio products.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Able to confidently read and interpret and understand technical drawings for quality inspection purposes.
  • Report Writing: Ability to create concise and informative reports for quality and measurement data.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to confidently use a PC (Microsoft Office and in particular Excel) and understand the need for filing and organisation of test results.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Methodical and Analytic Thinking: Methodical and analytic thinker.
  • Highly Organized: Highly organized, thorough, and process-driven.

Working Conditions

You are expected to work at our company head office on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week, over the standard working hours of 7:30 am to 4:15 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 am to midday on Friday.
