We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our specialist Capital Asset Tax Services team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on capital allowances to our clients, helping them to optimise their tax relief on capital expenditure incurred on property and fixed assets.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance on capital allowances to clients and the wider tax practice.
- Assist in the preparation of technical updates to clients and the wider tax practice following changes to the capital allowances legislation.
- Review and analyse legal documentation, tax legislation, and asset lives to clarify a company's entitlement to claim capital allowances.
- Investigate asset lives and business requirements to assist with decision making of allocating qualifying expenditure to the appropriate capital allowances pool.
- Prepare technical responses to queries raised by HM Revenue & Customs into our clients' claims.
- More than 4 years work experience within Capital Allowances is required.
- Experience or qualifications in quantity surveying, valuations or construction technology is welcomed but not required.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statutes.
- Good project management skills, capable of planning and prioritising work whilst meeting all deadlines.
- Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards.
- Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output.
