Join Us in Serving Scotland's Water Needs.

At Scottish Water, we are dedicated to managing Scotland's vital natural resource. Our mission is to ensure the delivery of clean and safe water from source to tap while being stewards of the environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Water Network Maintenance Specialist to become a part of our Water Response team, primarily operating in the Glasgow region.

Your Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be to address and resolve customer concerns. You will take charge of various situations, investigate issues, and devise solutions that ensure customer satisfaction, keeping them informed throughout the process.

Additionally, you will perform routine maintenance and repairs on water network systems, as well as conduct inspections on equipment and vehicles. Safety will be your top priority, guided by industry standards, while minimizing service interruptions.

Accurate documentation is crucial, so you will utilize reporting systems to track performance and productivity. As a team member, you will also participate in the standby rota for after-hours duties.

Qualifications

While you will work independently at times, self-motivation is essential, along with a willingness to support your team’s objectives. Basic computer skills are required, as you will engage with digital tools and applications daily. Proficiency in report writing is necessary to communicate effectively and efficiently.

A valid, clean driving license is essential, as travel between various sites in the Glasgow area will be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with HGVs or excavators (180/360) is advantageous. Familiarity with cable avoidance tools and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations for site work are beneficial. While holding a CPCS or NSRWA qualification is a plus, it is not mandatory.

Employee Support

We recognize the importance of work-life balance. This role may involve weekend shifts and standby duties, but you will enjoy generous time off, including 38 days of holiday annually (inclusive of public holidays), with the option to purchase additional leave. Opportunities for community volunteering are also available.

Our family-friendly policies support significant life events, including adoption and parental leave, and we promote flexible working arrangements.

For your future, we offer a pension plan and life insurance coverage. Additionally, you can look forward to an annual company bonus and access to employee benefits that can help you save on various expenses.

Important Information

This position is classified as Grade 4, with a starting salary that reflects your experience and performance. Progression in pay is available based on your contributions.

We encourage applications from individuals who may not meet every requirement. If you are interested in this position, we welcome your application regardless of your background.

We are committed to inclusivity and are open to making adjustments in our recruitment process to accommodate diverse needs. If you have any specific requirements, please let us know.

As part of our commitment to supporting Scotland, all employees must be Scottish taxpayers. If you are not currently residing in Scotland, you will need to relocate within a specified timeframe.

Lastly, we periodically refresh our recruitment database, so candidates who have not applied in the last year will have their records removed automatically.
