Finance Assistant Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join a reputable organisation based in Didcot. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase Ledger: Verify bank accounts for new suppliers, raise purchase orders in line with company policies, and process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Expenses: Process cash expenses in line with company policies, reconcile credit card expenses, and raise any issues with the supervisor.
  • Additional Tasks: Prepare and process journals, validate supplier contact details, raise sale invoices accurately and timely, settle debtors within agreed payment terms, and assist with routine credit control.
Requirements:
  • Some finance experience with good administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High levels of IT literacy, including Excel.
  • Self-motivated and strong team player with a drive to continue own development at work and within studies.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude with flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with seasonal pressure points.
  • Good attention to detail.
