Overview of the Process Development Specialist Position

In the role of Process Development Specialist, you will engage in various phases ranging from preliminary research (non-GMP) to the comprehensive development of methodologies for the manufacture of clinical trial materials (cGMP regulated).

This position is primarily laboratory-based, with approximately 80% of your time dedicated to hands-on laboratory work and 20% allocated to office tasks. Comprehensive support and training will be provided to enhance the skills of the successful candidate. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting the conjugation of small molecules (such as cytotoxins and chelators) and polymers to antibodies and proteins using various chemical and enzymatic conjugation methods.
  • Characterizing produced antibody and protein conjugates through HPLC and mass spectrometry techniques.
  • Presenting findings to clients and internal scientific teams.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documenting experimental outcomes in laboratory notebooks.
  • Organizing your work to achieve project goals within set timelines.
  • Participating in laboratory upkeep and contributing to the general maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Executing tasks with precision by adhering to established protocols (standard operating procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments).

Qualifications for the Role
  • A minimum of a BSc in Chemistry, Protein Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Proven hands-on laboratory experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Protein conjugation/modification.
  • Protein downstream purification techniques, including chromatography and TFF.
  • Protein physicochemical analysis, particularly HPLC and Mass Spectrometry.
  • A collaborative team player with a track record of working within high-performing teams.
  • A scientific mindset with problem-solving abilities and a commitment to resolving issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a keen attention to detail.
