Position Overview

Advance TRS is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role will be based in a flexible work environment, allowing for a blend of office and remote work.

You will be directly accountable to the Commercial Manager, overseeing the financial management of various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity surveying tasks related to project and work package management.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and supply chain teams to effectively capture, analyze, and control costs.
  • Engage with clients to ensure their business needs are fulfilled.
  • Oversee the main contract, ensuring that all contractual notices and correspondence are properly identified and addressed.
  • Prepare and distribute subcontract documentation.
  • Manage the procurement process by preparing and issuing necessary documents.
  • Support the management and performance evaluation of subcontractors.
  • Facilitate the preparation and agreement of payment applications.
  • Compile project cost and value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assist in mentoring and developing junior commercial staff.
  • Commit to continuous professional development by participating in industry networking, conferences, and associations to stay updated on changes and innovations.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-focused work ethic, providing constructive feedback.
  • Perform additional duties, training, and/or work hours as required, consistent with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Ensure confidentiality in all aspects of work.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Progressing towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution.
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and developing a small team or individual.
