Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer dedicated to promoting operational excellence and safety within a manufacturing setting? We present a remarkable opportunity for you to assume a key position as Electrical Engineering Manager at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Our client, a prominent global entity, is devoted to innovation, quality, and sustainability. The UK division specializes in producing niche products for sectors including automotive, renewable energy, medical devices, and infrastructure.

Position Summary:

As the Senior Electrical Engineering Manager, you will spearhead the maintenance, servicing, repair, and enhancement of all electrical systems essential for manufacturing operations. Your proficiency will guarantee the safety of personnel and contractors while ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the electrical functionality of all site equipment and services
  • Provide expert technical direction and ensure adherence to industry regulations
  • Identify and manage high voltage switching requirements and schedules
  • Select and supervise contractors
  • Create engineering documentation including permits to work, risk assessments, purchase orders, training materials, and engineering manuals
  • Conduct Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training
  • Procure electrical components; high voltage, low voltage, variable speed drives, programmable logic controllers
  • Replace outdated components
  • Perform root cause analysis, breakdown investigations, and implement improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Completed Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship, Level 3 qualification
  • Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND)
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems and power supply, from transformers to substations down to component level in a manufacturing context
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and instructions
  • Highly organized, systematic, and adaptable to address urgent issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications
  • High Voltage Qualification is advantageous – training can be provided
