Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and professional individual to become a part of our blood collection team. The acquisition of high-quality blood specimens from patients is a crucial component in numerous medical assessments. Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY LOCATION: Macclesfield District General Hospital - This role includes ward round services.

The North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service offers blood collection services at multiple sites, including Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford, Congleton, and all direct access localities. The successful candidate may be required to provide coverage at all service locations as needed.

The role involves the collection of venous blood samples for laboratory analysis.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and collaborate with team members when necessary.

Interaction with other healthcare professionals, clinicians, laboratory personnel, patients, and their representatives, both in person and via telephone, will be a regular part of the role.

This position entails handling biological specimens that may contain infectious agents; therefore, adherence to all procedures during blood collection in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental policies, particularly regarding Health & Safety and Quality, is essential.

The candidate must be prepared to support the department across various locations as required.

This is a rewarding and significant role, and prior experience in this field is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.

Qualifications
