Position Title: Versatile Maintenance Technician
Location: Droitwich
Work Schedule: 42 hours per week, following a 4 on 4 off rotation covering both day and night shifts.
We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Technician to join our Droitwich facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and repair all machinery while proactively identifying and implementing innovative methods to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and conduct testing, repairs, and maintenance.
- Observe, identify, and report on machinery or component defects or signs of potential failure.
- Service, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment using the appropriate tools safely and effectively.
- Assess machinery and equipment, providing reports on condition, performance, and recommendations for improvements.
- Execute planned and preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
- Interpret and apply technical service instructions related to machinery and equipment.
- Engage in training provided by the company to enhance skill sets.
- Utilize the CMMS stores system to accurately document parts usage.
- Adhere to established stores systems.
- Evaluate records and associated costs for repairs.
- Order necessary replacement parts as required.
- Collaborate with manufacturers of specialized machinery and equipment.
- Support site initiatives for Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, and Autonomous Maintenance.
- Employ and promote basic Continuous Improvement techniques and Root Cause Analysis methods.
- Contribute to departmental 5S programs.
- Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance techniques.
- Assist the department during internal and external audits.
- Effectively utilize the CMMS system to record information accurately.
- Leverage CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives and fault trending to facilitate quick resolutions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Completion of a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Education to ONC/HNC level or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Proven capacity to make logical decisions to resolve potential issues.
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet operational and personal objectives.
