The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the Trust in meeting RTT Performance standards. This position involves aiding in the collection of RTT data for patients navigating clinical pathways, alongside conducting data quality assessments and validations to ensure precise waiting time records. The role includes providing guidance on RTT regulations and enhancing comprehension of RTT metrics and standards. The individual will collaborate with the Deputy Directorate Manager to manage patients on the holding list and execute various operational tasks.

Main Responsibilities

The appointee will support the Medical PA Manager and administrative personnel in data validation, as well as operational staff, with the following responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the Trust's RTT data to guarantee accurate information recording.
  2. Assist in validation processes utilizing PTL reports related to RTT. Monitor patients on ongoing RTT pathways to ensure correct recording of pathway details, facilitating the achievement of RTT targets while adhering to all RTT regulations and Access Policy guidelines.
  3. Follow departmental protocols and standard operating procedures, contributing to the processes surrounding RTT documentation.
  4. Aid in identifying procedural challenges that may hinder data quality improvement.
  5. Conduct regular audits and weekly validations of the ongoing PTL list in collaboration with the Deputy Directorate Manager, Medical PA Supervisor, outpatient staff, nurses, medical secretaries, and elective admissions.
  6. Generate reports upon request concerning holding list patients.
  7. Serve as an advisor to both clinical and non-clinical staff regarding RTT pathways, enhancing their understanding of the process to accurately adjust RTT start and stop points in accordance with Department of Health National Guidance.
  8. Investigate and address any incomplete pathways to ensure timely patient treatment and maintain robust Trust information.
  9. Support medical secretaries and administrative managers with processes related to the RTT pathway.
Candidate Profile Qualifications Essential Criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration and/or customer service or equivalent professional experience.
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent literacy and numeracy level.
Desirable Criteria
  • ECDL or equivalent Microsoft application proficiency.
  • Completion of NHS RTT E-Learning modules.
Experience Essential Criteria
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize personal workload effectively.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience utilizing intranet resources for research.
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous NHS experience in an administrative or clerical role related to RTT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and operational experience with NHS IT systems, particularly concerning patient pathways and RTT regulations.
