Candid Recruit is seeking a skilled HGV/Plant Technician to join our client's team in Armthorpe, near Doncaster. Our client is a premier hire supplier of Vacuum Excavators to the UK construction industry, with a fully equipped, modern HGV workshop to DVSA standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct HGV vehicle inspections and repair in accordance with DVSA standards and the GTMR.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to diagnose and repair faults.
- Use hand tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repairs on HGV and Plant.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical diagnostics on vehicles and Plant.
- Carry out forklift, soldering, welding, and other associated tasks as required.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary.
- HGV Class 2 (Cat C) advantageous.
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
- Proficient in interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with hand tools and equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles, IRTEC L3 an advantage.
- Electrical diagnostic skills are advantageous.
- Ability to operate forklifts.
- Proficiency in hydraulic systems.
- Capable of heavy lifting as part of the job duties.
This is a 4 on 4 off role, working a 10 hour day, with regular OT available. Some remote working/on call will be required to deal with breakdowns etc. Our client is offering an impressive package, with an above market average salary and benefits, to attract the best candidate.
