Electrical and Instrument Engineer Role

Orion Group is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrument Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to project teams, ensuring compliance with site standards, and managing functional safety compliance on CAPEX projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical I&E engineering and controls support to project teams
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with site standards and provide prompt answers to technical queries
  • Manage functional safety compliance on CAPEX projects, ensuring conformance to IEC 61508 requirements
  • Liaise with Electrical and Instrument Technical Authorities to ensure E+I proposals are aligned to site requirements
  • Assess new E&I equipment for safety, health, environmental, and quality impact
  • Update IS calculations and loop drawings for CAPEX projects
  • Ensure qualification and quality obligations are met for project E & I activity
Requirements:
  • Substantial E&I engineering experience supporting project planning, development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Strong work ethic and proactive attitude with commercial mindset, good communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as required and attend Factory Acceptance Tests
